Long Hours On The Up

08/06/2010

In a recent article by the Birmingham Mail it was found that workers hours are increasing again as the recovery picks up.  The pick up follows a reduction in hours by workers during the recession assisting their employers by reducing salary costs but now the recovery seems to be picking up momentum it seems hours are creeping back up to  normal with the UK working some of the longest hours in Europe.

The increase in 'demand' for workers time is seen by many a positive sign that the economy is bouncing back following a fall in working hours. The CIPD recorded a fall of 32 million hours worked per week during the recession. So this modest pick in hours comes as positive news to many employers and workers in the UK.
