Ken Wood, Managing Director of Network Recruitment Partnership, visited one of the teams at Midlands Air Ambulance this week to find out more about the work they do and to present a cheque for £500. The team at the Tatenhill base in Burton on Trent treated Ken to a view of their 4 year old, 135, custom designed helicopter called ‘Gemma’ worth £3m. The crew have been based at Tatenhill since 2008 and last year completed their new aircraft hanger.
The money was raised by Network during a charity evening attended by clients from across the Midlands and was raised by holding a raffle and charity auction with prizes that included the chance to ride in a P1 racing boat. The event was the culmination of a year of fundraisinng by Network for the charity which has raised over £3000 to date and has included staff sky dives.
The visit marked the continuation of Network’s support for Midlands Air Ambulance as their chosen charity for 2012 and as well as the £500 cheque network have already made a considerable donation for 2012 to mark the start of next years fundraising.
Ken Wood said , “It was great speaking to the crew members themselves, hearing their stories as well as seeing the helicopter up close. This is one of the few charities whose collection boxes I never walk past as you never know whether one day you might just need them”.
