Principal Systems Engineer - Certification and Compliance
Salary:£35000 -£40000
Location:Isle of Wight
This is a key role within the Test department of the Engineering team in Cowes. This role is also co-located in the Engineering project teams, acting as the key focal point for all engine systems activity. You will be required to manage all systems activity from the specification of components to meet customer requirements; development of test programmes and associated plans and documentation; liaison with suppliers on specification and test and acting as the key interface with the client.
Additional responsibilities will include:
-Requirements capture, compliance monitoring and verification
- Preparation of supplier technical specifications and flowing down requirements
- Preparation of qualification and certification plans for structure and systems, both mechanical and electrical.
- Preparation and / or review Qualification Test Plans, Qualification Test Reports and Similarity Reports
- Supplier and customer liaison including tracking and closure of all formal correspondence and coordination of documentation.
- Component specification and qualification, internally and by suppliers, to customer, national and international standards.
The successful applicant will have A graduate or equivalent in Mechanical or Electric Engineering with expertise in electrical integration of propulsion systems, including harness definition and design, bonding and lightning protection. A thorough knowledge of definition, integration and qualification of aircraft propulsion system nacelles and systems and components for Commercial and Military programmes. Previous experience in instrumentation design and data acquisition of strain, temperature and displacement data Proven experience in client liaison, supervision and guidance of suppliers Systems engineering efforts will be required. Ideally you will have industry knowledge to introduce new software tools to the business, particularly in the area of requirements capture, compliance and V&V.
