Due to continued growth through global sales of high technology electro-mechanical systems our client requires an additional Mechanical Design Engineer.

Salary: £28000 - £32000 + benefits
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
The mechanical design engineer will work in a multi-disciplined engineering team responsible for designing, detailing and providing support to the manufacture of complex hydro - mechanical products used in demanding environments..
Duties:
- Production of concept designs to meet customer performance parameters.
- Design analysis and detailing of high tolerance mechanical machined components.
- Support to both internal manufacturing engineers and external suppliers.
- Ownership of the design for manufacture and design for assembly (DFM/ DFA ) review process and the development of installation solutions to meet the needs of external and internal customers.
Experience:
- Qualified with an Engineering Degree/HND Mechanical Engineering or similar..
- Previous experience in a Mechanical Design role, designing and detailing of complex mechanical fluid control, rotating or pump based components and systems. Therefore a background in hydraulic systems and manifolds, fuel control, pneumatics, pumps, compressors would be desirable.
- Experience of using structured problem solving techniques and experience of lean engineering and six sigma techniques would beneficial.
- Experience of using 3D CAD modelling systems essential. (CATIA, IDEAS, UGNX, PRO ENGINEER)
- You will be a self starter who is capable of processing engineering data and able to identify solutions to overcome problems.
