Senior Software Engineer – Real Time Embedded Software
Salary: c£40000
Location: Mid Wales
The Role:
The Embedded software team sit within the Engineering and Development Function and their remit is to develop software for use within the latest ranges of microcontrollers using state of the art development tools. The engineers are responsible for implementing and verifying system design ensuring that they meet the agreed functional design specifications whilst also satisfying the necessary quality, reliability, maintainability and cost criteria. The team is also responsible for writing and maintaining functional requirement specifications by interpreting and analysing user requirements. The role sits within a larger cross-functional team and works alongside electrical, electronic, mechanical and manufacturing engineers to ensure that designs can be optimised. As the products are designed for volume manufacture, one of the key aspects of the role is maximizing the utilisation of any hardware configuration in terms of performance, memory etc.
The Person:
BSc / BEng in Computing, Engineering or related degree
Demonstrable experience in embedded software, real time development using C or C++
Good communication skills and the ability to assimilate complex ideas
Commercial attitude to software development.
Experience of structured design methodologies e.g UML
Collaborative approach to software development
Team player with good communication skills
