Due to continued growth through global sales of high tolerance mechanical systems a new position has been created to develop a strategy for component measurement and metrology excellence.
Quality Manager - Metrology
Salary: £30000 - £40000 + benefits
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
The Metrology expert will work closely with the senior management team as part of a multi-disciplined engineering department responsible for manufacturing and qualifying complex mechanical products used in demanding environments.
Duties
Define and deploy a strategy for the development of measurement capabilities to maximise the performance of the business and meet the needs of the future generation of products.
Establish and deliver robust plans for achieving capability in measurement systems
Researching the latest measurement technologies to ensure that the companies techniques are continually optimised.
Develop clear sourcing strategies and supplier partnerships for measurement equipment and technology.
Bring about real transformation in processes and skill sets across the organisation and the supply chain in the area of measurement and metrology
Eliminate waste from the measurement processes by the installation of measurement techniques connected to manufacturing process stability and predictability
Experience
Ideally qualified to degree level you will already be an expert to robust quality measurement systems and process.
A proven career in Metrology or Quality Measurement Engineering or Management gained in a high tolerance mechanical engineering environment.
Expertise in modern metrology and dimensional analysis tools and systems including MSA, Gauge R&R, Calibration.
Knowledge of route cause analysis techniques such as 8D, Ishikawa and Six Sigma or similar improvement tools is desirable.
