Due to continued growth through global sales of high tolerance mechanical systems a new position has been created to conceptual design and performance analysis of fuel control systems for performance engines.

Performance Engineer   (Powertrain, Engine or Fuel Control Systems)

Salary:             £34000 - £40000 + benefits

Location:         West Midlands ( commutable from Coventry, Birmingham, Redditch, Tamworth, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire areas)

The Performance Engineer will be an expert in the field of mathematical modeling combined with fluid mechanics and will work closely within a small team involved with the conceptional design and performance analysis of fluid controls and actuators. You will work on a broad range of products at all stages of development and form strategies for future systems to maintain the world class status of the company.

Duties

Review of customer specifications and generation of conceptual architectures to meet functional requirements
Negotiation and generation of performance requirements with customers and suppliers
Performance analysis resulting in the principal sizing and predicted behaviour of hydraulic fluid controls, actuators and electrical interface devices
Present design schemes to both internal and external audiences
Prepare written technical reports for both internal and external audiences and generate patent applications
Generate procedures and acceptance criteria for test and analyse test data
Produce engineering guidelines and working procedures

Experience

Qualified to degree level, probably with post graduate qualifications with a proven background in one or more of the following fields:

Automotive or aerospace engine control or gas turbine performance parameter definition and analysis
Hydraulic, pump  or fluid control systems and component design
Electro-hydraulic interface devices
Good understanding of control theory
Mathematical modelling of fluid mechanics


Above all you must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex problems and possess excellent interpersonal skills which will allow you to communicate effectively at all levels in the organisation and with external customers.
