Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for Maintenance reliability Mechanical Engineering duties across a large plant and the, plus the initiation & completion of development & capital works. The role is an 80% Maintenance and reliability / 20% capital projects.
This role is ideally suited to a Maintenance Engineering Professional who is motivated by low cost maintenance strategies and can lead, initiate and develop these across a complex manufacturing plant.
You will have experience measuring OEE, MTBF/MTTR, monitoring availability, RFT planned vs unplanned maintenance activity, preventative maintenance completion rates. Also you will be able to analyse and effectively report maintenance and contractor costs, spares utilization and craft man hours
Key Result Areas
- Equipment performance measures established & improved through the application of an effective preventive maintenance strategy.
- Cost reduction initiatives identified, implemented & verified
- Safety performance measures achieved or exceeded
- Engineering systems development support
- Capital Projects initiated and completed on time and budget
The ideal candidate will be:
- Qualified to Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent
- Technically competent in the use of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Refractory Systems, Metal Forming, PUWER/LOLER and Machining Process’.
- The ability to lead teams and champion change
- Experienced in Managing People and carrying out tough decisions.
- Some experience to SAP R3 Maintenance Management
The individual will have strong will to succeed, high safety values, understand customer needs, good communication skills and the ability to work in a cross functional environment.
