Senior Design Engineer
Salary c£30,000
Location: Warwickshire ( commutable from Coventry, Rugby, Leamington, South Birmingham, Northamptonshire and Banbury areas )
A leading hydraulics company has an opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer to join the Engineering function . CAD experience in a design and development role within Engineering, (ideally hydraulics, electronics or pneumatics) is essential to this challenging role that also requires strong communication skills & potential for leadership.
Duties
To design and bring to production new and modified Hydraulic Cartridge Valves to meet the requirement of the customer in a timely and cost effective manner.
Provide technical support to customers on issues relating to the design and production of Valves
Design new and modified valves, verifying the design and performance using CAE software and traditional calculations where applicable.
Conduct value analysis (VE/VA )to ensure the solution is cost effective
Facilitate manufacturing of the new product and test in line with written test plans
Experience
Ideally educated to Degree or HND / apprentice trained in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent you likely to have a number of years experience as a Design Engineer, Application or Project Engineer and has grasped an excellent working knowledge of either fluid control utilising valves, hydraulic systems or pumps.
In addition you will posses the following criteria:
.Project Management Skills
.Knowledge of 3D CAD ( Pro Engineer, CATIA, UNX, Solid Works ) and CFD Design Tools ideally
.Knowledge of Component Designing, Materials, Manufacturing processes and Finishing.
.An understanding of electro magnetism and electronics would be highly desirable
.Ability to work independently to drive projects to a conclusion quickly and accurately
