A successful and growing manufacturing company is seeking an ambitious Cell Leader to develop and improve KPI’s and planning of production metal pressing and welded assemblies for the leading automotive customers. 

Production Team Leader

“Automotive component manufacturer”

Salary: c£22000 - £24000 

Location: Warwickshire (commutable from South Birmingham, Rugby, Coventry, Solihull, Leamington, Warwick, Nuneaton, Banbury, Stratford areas) 

Reporting to the Production Shift Manager, the Production Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring customers production schedules are meet to exacting quality, cost and delivery targets. Oversee daily production planning, labour utilisation and staff supervision of a specialist low and high volume metal pressing and welded assembly manufacturing operation. 

KEY DUTIES

Overseeing the production process, drawing up a production schedules.

Ensure planned KPI's of efficiency and performance are met or exceeded. ie: Cost, Quality, Delivery, RFT, H&S etc.

Develop and track improvement in reduction of planned hours.

Coordinate, set up and implement standard operating procedure for all production operations and visual measurement boards.

Manage the adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure first pass quality meets or exceeds planned goals.

Assessing manning, production capacity and material / parts resources required.

Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programs.

Implement and drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities through implementation of change management process and best practices.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Proven track record in managing production within an automotive component manufacturer, involving complex tooling and production processes and planning medium and volume batch production schedules.

Previous experience working for an automotive tier 1 or tier 2 supplier or similar 'best practice' manufacturing organisation is essential to be considered for this role.

Ability to create and manage production plans and delivery to requirements of customer schedules.

Strong interpersonal skills and a proven man-management record.

Experience of working within a "best practice" lean manufacturing environment.

Has participated in a cultural change programme and implemented lean production techniques or introduced measurable continuous improvement initiatives.

You may have experience in the following roles: Cell Leader,  Production Team Leader, Production Supervisor, Shift Manager or similar.
