Due to continued growth through global sales of high tolerance mechanical systems a new position of Lead Quality Engineer has been created to develop a the quality strategy  for component measurement and metrology excellence.

Senior Quality Engineer

Salary:             £30000 - £36000 + benefits

Location:         Birmingham, West Midlands

This senior quality position will be a focus for customers quality across the daily operation of the manufacturing plant and lead quality improvements throughout the organisation.  Working  closely with the senior management team as part of a multi-disciplined engineering department responsible for manufacturing and qualifying complex mechanical products used in demanding environments.

Duties

Lead Value Streams to deliver the quality strategy and objectives throughout quality and manufacturing operations leading problem solving and continuous improvement events.
Acting as deputy to the Plant Quality Manager

Lead and develop quality strategy and objectives

Define and deploy a strategy for the development of quality strategy and objectives to maximise the performance of the business and meet the needs of the future generation of products.

Establish and deliver robust plans for achieving capability in measurement systems

Develop clear sourcing strategies and supplier partnerships for measurement equipment and technology.

Bring about real transformation in processes and skill sets across the organisation and the supply chain in the area of measurement and metrology

Eliminate waste from the measurement processes by the installation of measurement techniques connected to manufacturing process stability and predictability

Experience

Ideally qualified to HNC / Degree level you will already be an expert to robust quality measurement systems and process.

A proven career in Quality Engineering or Management gained in a high tolerance mechanical engineering environment.

Expertise in modern quality analysis tools and systems including  PFMEA,  APQP, MSA, Gauge R&R, Calibration.

Knowledge of route cause analysis techniques such as 8D, 5Y, Ishikawa and Six Sigma or similar improvement  tools is expected.

We are looking for a strong highly motivated quality professional familiar with world class quality and manufacturing systems. You will be demanding of high standards with strong ideas and experience to achieve them. You will have a portfolio of results that have a dominant theme of focused improvement activities.


Above all we a looking for a quality engineer who possesses capability to develop into Management role in future.
