Production engineer, Warwickshire
A successful manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Production Engineer to take responsibility for the manufacturability of current and new products to ensuring that the operations quality, delivery and cost targets are achieved.

Location: Warwickshire ( commutable from Coventry, Warwick, Leamington, Nuneaton, Rugby, Banbury, Stratford areas )
This position will be instrumental in aspects of taking a product from design into production aswell as supporting and improving existing production processes. The company design and manufacturer high precision products for the automotive industry.
Responsibilities
Production support: Ensure that all engineering problems are resolved to achieve Production schedules and meet customer delivery dates and targets.
- Produce CNC part programmes for CNC turning and machining centres
- Resolve immediate product technical problems with NPI
- Work with suppliers on quality/process capability problems
New product introduction: Take responsibility for the manufacturability of new products and ensure a smooth transfer of the product into production.
- Management of product procurement and build
- Produce process instructions (SOP)
- BOM creation and cost estimation/tracking
- Bought-out part specifications and supplier selection with Purchasing
- Assistance in generation of Assembly and Test documentation.
Lean manufacture: Ensure the implementation of lean manufacture methods and practices including;
- Design for Manufacture/Assembly (DFMA) and Failure mode and effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Accelerated Life test, for critical parts and assemblies
- Six sigma/statistical process control methodologies
- Cell layout, manufacturing process and work station design
- Materials flows, kanban system and pull systems
- Ensure the robustness of all transferred manufacturing processes
Experience
Candidates are likely to be qualified to HNC or Degree Production Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or similar engineering discipline.
You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in CNC machining and precision mechanical manufacturing and assembly production processes, preferably gained in a high volume manufacturing organisation.
Detailed knowledge and experience of CNC part programing of CAD CAM systems for modern machining operations.
Ideally working with a product design and manufacturing environment, you must be able to solve challenging engineering and production issues and suggest improvements to performance and manufacturability of products. In addition you must be able to analyse statistical data to make process and quality improvements , therefore some Kaizen or Six Sigma DMAIC training and experience would prove beneficial.
